Among his many achievements are being hailed ABC Wide Sports Athlete of the Year in 1999, Prince of Asturias Awards in Sports in 2000, Sports Illustrated magazine Sportsman of the year from 2002, and he even got ESPNs ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete from 2003 " 2006. The list goes on and on but the point is, Mr. Armstrong achieved all these despite suffering from something others might consider a terrible tragedy.
Lance was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996. It started as a tumor and has metastasized to his brain and his lungs. Even though his original prognosis was poor, he was able to rally and bounce back. his treatments included brain and testicular surgery and a series of chemotherapy. The post caused so much hype that a Facebook group called '1 Million Citizens Looking For Lance Armstrong's Bike was immediately created.
The creation of this group sent a clear and loud message that everyone was now looking for the hero's bicycle. It made it very hard for the culprits to move much less sell the rig. The person who delivered the bike to the station was not a suspect to the crime, and there were no arrests made. Everybody was just pleased that the celeb's ride was returned.
